NOTE The Navigate based on responses feature can only be configured when creating or editing a To-do from the dashboard.
1. Understanding the Feature
The [Navigate based on responses] feature automatically controls which question appears next based on the task assignee's response, enabling a customized workflow suited to each situation. Unnecessary questions are skipped so that only the questions that truly matter are displayed in order.
flow control: Questions that are not needed are automatically skipped (marked as Skipped) based on the task assignee's response, improving task efficiency.
Reference for 'Section' Items: A 'Section' is an information-only item that requires no response, so [Navigate based on responses] cannot be set on it directly. (However, it is Possible to configure another general question to navigate to that 'Section' based on its response.)
When the feature is not configured: Questions that do not have this feature enabled will move to the Next question right away when answered or skipped.
2. Configuring the Feature
Step 1: Prepare Basic Settings
1. First, create the questions for which you want to set Navigation rules. (Reference: ▶︎ Create a template >)
2. Click the [Navigate based on responses] toggle button at the bottom right of the question to Activate it.
Step 2: Configure Navigation Rules by Type
The [Navigate based on responses] feature works in two ways.
⚠️ Reference: The Multiple selection component does not support this Option because selecting multiple Items simultaneously can cause conflicts in the navigation path.
You can assign a different navigation path for each View the task assignee selects.
Go to the next question: Moves to the immediately following question upon selection. (If it is the last question, Submit and Finish Right away.)
Question n: Skips intermediate questions and moves directly to the specified question upon selection.
Submit and Finish: Skips all remaining questions and immediately submits and finishes the task upon selection.
Navigate based on whether a response was given
Applicable components:All components except Multiple choice and Dropdown (Single selection)
Assigns the navigation path for when a response has been Completed or Skipped, regardless of the content of the response.
Go to the next question: Moves to the next question after responding. (If it is the last question, Submit and Finish Right away.)
Question n: Skips intermediate questions and moves to the specified question after responding.
Submit and Finish: Submits and finishes immediately after responding, without displaying any remaining questions.
💡 Tips for Skip Settings
Skipped status: Questions that are skipped in the middle are not displayed on screen during the actual task and are processed with a 'Skipped' status.
Navigation rule for skipped questions: Navigation rules for cases where a question is skipped without a response can also be configured individually. However, since 'Must answer' questions cannot be skipped, no configuration item is provided for them.
Navigation direction restriction: Navigation rules can only be set in the forward direction (to later questions); setting a backward direction to return to a previous question is Impossible.
Step 3: Complete the Settings
1. After entering all detailed rules, click the [Apply] button at the bottom right.
2. Apply the same Navigation rules to any other questions as needed to match the overall task workflow.
