A. Yes, in most cases.
Shopl uses a combination of GPS, Wi-Fi, and mobile network signals to determine location — not GPS alone. As long as employees have Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity inside the building, location data will be collected normally. That said, heavily shielded spaces with minimal signal coverage may affect Location accuracy. We Recommend running a Preview in your actual facility before rolling it out to the full team.
Q. Will location continue to Update if an employee locks their phone or switches the app to the background?
A. Yes.
As long as the employee is logged into the Shopl app and location permissions are set to "Always Allow," location data will continue to Update even when the screen is off or the app is running in the background.
